MemberSpace affiliate tracking with Refficks
MemberSpace plans, credited from the payments MemberSpace takes in your own Stripe account.
What it gives you
- MemberSpace plans (one-time and subscriptions) are credited to the partner whose link brought the member, from the payment in your Stripe account.
- A refund in Stripe takes the commission back by itself, and a subscription's renewals stay with the partner who brought the member.
What it does not
- A one-time plan's payment is counted only with "Count payments outside invoices and checkouts" switched on, on the Stripe page, and only from that moment. It needs the Stripe account approved for Refficks in Stripe.
- A member is credited through their link only if the members code names them as they join. It must sit above MemberSpace's install code, which only tells code that is already listening.
- Commission on a one-time plan is worked out on the whole amount Stripe charged: a payment like this says nothing about tax.
- A coupon on a one-time plan is MemberSpace's own and never reaches Stripe, so a partner's code there credits nobody. On a subscription plan MemberSpace makes the coupon in Stripe, where it can be named as a partner's code.
- A visitor who has not accepted cookies, or whose browser sends Global Privacy Control, is not named. Their sale can still be credited through a partner's code on a subscription plan.
Steps
1. Count MemberSpace's one-time payments in Stripe
MemberSpace takes payments in the Stripe account you connected to it. Connect the same account to Refficks on the Stripe page, approving Refficks in Stripe, then switch on "Count payments outside invoices and checkouts" there.
A subscription plan's payments are invoices, which Refficks counts anyway. A one-time plan's payment belongs to no invoice, and is counted only with that switch on, from the moment it is switched on.
2. Put the Refficks script on your site
Paste the snippet into the head of every page of the website MemberSpace runs on, wherever your site builder takes code for every page.
3. Name members as they join
Paste the code below on every page too, above MemberSpace's own install code: MemberSpace only tells code that is already listening. When somebody joins or signs up for a plan, it tells Refficks their email, and their payments in Stripe are credited to the partner whose link they followed.
<script> (function () { function name(email) { (function say(tries) { if (!window.refficks) return tries < 40 && setTimeout(function () { say(tries + 1); }, 250); window.refficks.identify({ email: email }); })(0); } document.addEventListener("MemberSpace.member.registration", function (event) { var member = event.detail && event.detail.memberInfo; if (member && member.email) name(member.email); }); document.addEventListener("MemberSpace.conversion", function (event) { var member = event.detail && event.detail.member; if (member && member.email) name(member.email); }); })(); </script>4. Make a test purchase
Open your site through any partner's link, copied from their page under Partners, join a plan with Stripe in test mode, and reach the plan's welcome page. The checks on this guide in Refficks turn green as each part is seen. A test payment is never counted as a sale.
