Refficks

ThriveCart affiliate tracking with Refficks

ThriveCart reports every order, renewal and refund to Refficks from its own server.

Nobody has walked these steps against a real ThriveCart setup yet. They are built from the provider's documentation, listed at the bottom of this page.

What it gives you

  • Orders on your ThriveCart checkout are credited to the partner whose link brought the buyer to your site.
  • Subscription renewals pay the same partner, and a refund takes back the commission on the payment it refunds, part by part for a partial refund.
  • ThriveCart's server reports each order, so a commission can approve itself on a plan that does, as a Stripe sale can.

What it does not

  • A checkout embedded in your page or opened as a popup does not carry the visitor, so those orders are recorded and credited to nobody.
  • A checkout on a name of your own, rather than your-store.thrivecart.com, does not carry the visitor yet.
  • A buyer who has not accepted cookies on your site, or whose browser sends Global Privacy Control, is not handed on, and their order is credited to nobody.
  • If you also connect the Stripe account ThriveCart charges through, each payment is counted once, for whichever reported it first.
  • The buyer's IP address in ThriveCart's report is replaced with a one-way code before anything is kept.

Steps

These are the steps as they read inside Refficks. Where one says “below”, it means this guide's page in Refficks, where your own script, addresses and checks are.

  1. 1. Connect ThriveCart

In ThriveCart, open Settings → API & Webhooks → ThriveCart order validation, and copy the secret word shown there. Paste it below and save.

Then copy the address Refficks gives you, open Settings → API & Webhooks → Webhooks & notifications in ThriveCart, and add it as a new webhook. ThriveCart checks the address before it saves it.

The connection is made on this guide in Refficks, once you have an account.

  2. 2. Put the Refficks script on your own site

On the pages where your links to ThriveCart are. When a visitor clicks one, the script adds who they are to the link, and ThriveCart hands that back with the order, so the partner whose link brought them is credited.

Link to your checkout with an ordinary link or button. A checkout embedded in your page, or opened as a popup by ThriveCart's own script, is not handed on.

Your copy of the Refficks script, with your own key in it, is on the Integrations page in Refficks.

  3. 3. Make a test purchase

Open your site through any partner's link, copied from their page under Partners, click through to ThriveCart, and buy with the product in ThriveCart's test mode. The checks below turn green as each part is seen.

A test purchase arrives as a test: it shows ThriveCart reaches Refficks, and records no sale and no commission. To see a partner credited, place one real order through a partner's link and refund it in ThriveCart; the refund takes the commission back.
